Tim Hortons Road Nationals 2003 – Preview

June 29, 2003 (Hamilton, ON) – Welcome to Pedal Magazine's online 2003 National Championship coverage! We begin our report from downtown Hamilton, with a 9am Elite Women's race, followed by a 12:30pm start for the Elite Men. The women will be racing 111.6km, and the men will be doing198.4k. This year is open to foreign riders, so as well as Canada's best riders, teams such as Saturn, Rona-Esker, and Navigators have brought other riders on their team to help the Canadian contingent.

The favourites today? In the men's race look for Eric Wohlberg and Charles Dionne (both Saturn), US Postal's Michael Barrry, Navigators' Mark Walters, and Flanders/Iteamnova.com's Dom Perras as heavy favourites. In the women's race, the winner should come from a short list comprising of Genevieve Jeanson (RONA-Esker), Lyne Bessette (Saturn), or Sue Palmer-Komar (Genesis-Scuba). The women are off at 9am, so check back shortly for the first of our online updates.
