March 13, 2013 (Vancouver, B.C.) – The Victoria Academy of Cycling, Vancouver Island’s premiere cycling program for young cyclists, is expanding and we need more coaches!
For the past 12 years we have introduced the sport of cycling to young riders and have helped to develop many of these young athletes into some of Canada’s top pros! We need your help to continue building the next generation of Canadian bike racers.
Position: Development Coach(es)
The successful applicant(s) will be responsible for overseeing on and off bike training of our Devo Team. These athletes are young riders just getting their start in bike racing. As such the coach must be a dynamic and energetic individual with the ability to inspire, teach and motivate riders 10-14 years old. Full training and support will be provided to the Devo Coach by VAC Head Coach and our Pro Cyclist Mentors.
Required Skill Set
Our coaches are dynamic and enthusiastic members of the cycling community. They posses excellent cycling skills, a good knowledge of bike racing, teaching /coaching experience (or the desire to develop these skills) but more importantly they are excellent communicators and have the ability to connect with young people and make every group training session exciting, challenging and fun! The main goal of our coaches is to make a positive and lasting impact on our many young athletes, to inspire them to ride their bikes fast and forever.
