October 18, 2013 – The Executive Vice-President of the Québec City and Montréal Grands Prix Cyclistes and the Cyclosportives La Québécoise and La Montréalaise, Marcel Leblanc, as well as actor Sébastien Delorme and climber Gabriel Filippi, were proud to announce this week the outcome of the fundraising initiative undertaken in solidarity with Lac-Mégantic at the beginning of August, a total of $25,828.
The funds raised via registrations to the Cyclosportives, the sale of cycling jerseys, stickers and bracelets, as well as donation boxes during the Grands Prix Cyclistes week, will be divided up between the municipality’s Fonds Avenir Lac-Mégantic and the Canadian Red Cross’ Lac-Mégantic Support Fund.
The organizers would like to thank the Cyclosportives participants, the Leaders’ Club members, as well as all the spectators at the Grands Prix Cyclistes who have contributed to the operation. They would also like to recognize the support of riders David Veilleux and Rémi Pelletier-Roy, as well as nutritionist Mélanie Olivier, as ambassadors of the fundraising initiative.
