May 31, 2007 — The Plastiglas Ontario Cup # 3 will kick off this Sunday, June 3rd at Boler Mountain in London, Ontario. Boler Mountain, a classic venue that is no stranger to hosting large mountain bike races, will host an Ontario Cup for the first time in six years.
The course is a mix of Boler’s extremely fast trails and twisty single track, which are easily accessible for all fans and spectators. This venue will showcase Ontario’s elite and amateur riders including Derek Zandstra of 3 Rox Racing who won last weekend’s Canada Cup in Mont Tremblant, Quebec. The cross-country events will test racers over distances ranging from 10– 50 km. The experts and elites will be racing at 1:30 pm with the amateur events beginning at 8:30am.
The Plastiglas Ontario Cup Series consists of 7 events taking place at premier mountain bike venues all across Ontario. These events have categories for all mountain bike ability levels, and are important events for athletes to develop their skills for the Canada Cup Series and World Championships.
