For almost 20 years the FQSC has worked to develop paracycling in the province and across Canada and welcomes this priceless opportunity for Canada’s athletes to compete against the best in the world in front of their families, friends and supporters.

In addition, this major international competition will showcase paracycling, which is still relatively unknown. It’s also a great opportunity for local fans to discover the sport. including people with disabilities to become familiar with this discipline as well. Who knows how many may consider to take up the sport as the final World Cup will be held in Baie-Comeau from 2011 to 2013.

Finally, this new association seems a natural, because with its environmentally responsible policy, the Para-cycling World Championships promotes values that are consistent with those advocated by Alcoa and Alcoa Foundation making this is a win-win relationship.

The FQSC wishes to thank the Alcoa Foundation and Alcoa Baie-Comeau, on behalf of hundreds of athletes who take part in these World Championships. Thank you!
