December 15, 2004 – Team Sugoi presented by Giant Bicycles will be back in action on the BC Cup scene in 2005. With a line-up which includes past BC Cup Winners along with talented up-and-comers, Team Sugoi is intended to be a developmental opportunity for the younger generation of XC riders in BC.

“I’m really excited about the growth of the program in 2005,” said Team Coordinator Bryan Anderson. “We’re trying to establish a stepping stone for athletes who have demonstrated the commitment and drive to progress in the sport. BC has a long-standing tradition of turning out some of the best XC racers in the World, and we want to make sure that doesn’t change.”

All the riders will be racing and training on Giant MTB and road bikes. “The addition of Giant as our equipment sponsor is a perfect extension of our program. They have a strong presence in the race scene and their complete range of XC, Road and Cross bikes will allow the athletes to challenge themselves in whatever disciplines they wish.”

The roster consists of past BC Cup Champions Andrew Kyle and Drew Mackenzie, up-and-comers Stefan Widmer, Graeme Bant, Leah Guloien and Alyssa Garrison along with Masters World Champion Nels Guloien and Team Co-ordinator Bryan Anderson.
