May 19, 2006 — During an early spring training camp at the Bromont National Cycling Centre, Team Specialized introduced its mountain bike team members and colours, as well as its principal objectives for the 2006 season.

Team Specialized will be focusing this year on the development of Espoir athletes. The role of team veterans Bruno Lafontaine and Benoit Simard will be to share their wealth of experience with team members.

With an outstanding Espoir season, cumulating with a 6th place at the Canadian MTB Championships in the Under 23 category, Jonathan Boulanger is very motivated, looking forward to the season with optimism. Elsie Torresan and Sébastien Tremblay also share Boulanger’s enthusiasm, commenting,”With Specialized to support us, we will be able to really excel in order to qualify for the MTB World Championships in New Zealand.”

The members of Team Specialized are also proud to be taking part in several Team Quebec projects throughout the season.

“In addition to hoping to qualify for the MTB World Championships, participation and success at the Canadian MTB Nationals in Kamloops, BC is a major goal for us,” explained Benoit Simard, team athlete and team manager.

Team Specialized kicks off their season officially this weekend at round #1 of the Canada Cup MTB in Bromont, Quebec.
