March 25, 2011 (Montreal, QC) – This past week the team had its first get together since the presentation launch in Montreal. The camp, led by Scott Moninger as DS, spent the entire week riding in the Southern California area of Carlsbad. Replete with their new Specialized equipment, they spent time getting to know each other as riders, work on team drills and of course, do lots of climbing.
The camp was a great success and the ladies shared a few laughs while dialing in their fitness. Unfortunately, we had one pretty big mishap. Jenny Trew had a bad crash and, due to some injuries, will miss starting at San Dimas. We have a couple of other riders on the “injured reserve” list and as such will start six riders this weekend at San Dimas:
Lex Albrecht, Joanie Caron, Valerie Crete, Anne Guzman, Véronique Labonte and Mary Zider. The team will be DS’d by ex-pro and world bronze medalist Laura Charameda
Next weekend in Redlands the following riders will start: Lex Albrecht, Joanie Caron, Anne Guzman, Veronique Labonte, Denise Ramsden, Jenny Trew and Mary Zider.
It has been a long journey getting here, but the ladies are excited to start the season and open it up!!
Right after Redlands, Joanie Caron and Jenny Trew will be heading to Europe with the National team for a month. The team will race Battenkill then head down to Gila and Joe Martin before the Gatineau Races in May
Keep the rubber side down.
