Team CHCH Planning for 2013

release by Team CHCH

July 24, 2012 (Hamilton, ON) – Although the 2012 season is not yet finished, planning has already started by TEAM CHCH for 2013. Head Coach of TEAM CHCH, Rick Lee said: “So far the 2012 season has really been a great time for TEAM CHCH, yet we cannot and will not rest on our results, we are only as good as our next race, we must keep lifting our standards and strive for bigger and better performances from our riders in 2013 and beyond.”

The strategies we put in place for 2012 are working very well, our rider’s performances have returned excellent results. These riders will now become the role models within our program, with our developing riders looking up to, and training with them. We believe in our riders, and now they have ‘belief’ in themselves.

We spend a great deal of time developing the right attitude and ‘mindset’ to training and racing amongst our riders, we all know that the mind is a very powerful tool for any athlete, and we believe that through the discipline and strategies that we use, our riders are well equipped mentally to perform at the highest level. Some riders will find the discipline and commitment a little hard to deal with, if that is the case they can find a squad within the TEAM CHCH program structure to ensure they continue to enjoy their cycling at a lesser intense level.

We will be conducting training opportunities and camps throughout Winter in Tucson & California, as well as racing and training in Vermont for the remainder of 2012. We are also looking at training and racing programs in Australia, this is a bigger project and may happen in 2014.

The purchase of a 15 seat Team Van and Trailer has made a huge difference to the logistics of transporting riders and equipment to races throughout Canada and the USA.

Our most recent projects to the National Road Championships and Rimouski saw great results by TEAM CHCH riders, they include;
– Saskia Kowalchuk 1st National Junior Women TT
– Adam Jamieson 3rd National Junior Men TT
– Ben Perry 3rd National Junior Men RR
– Adam Jamieson 1st GC Rimouski
– Erin Donohue 1st UCI GP Junior Women Rimouski
– Madeleine McConnell 3rd UCI GP Junior Women Rimouski
– Michael Storer 2nd GC Rimouski
– Team CHCH U17 Men 1st Rimouski TTT {Course record}
– Team CHCH U19 Women 1st Rimouski TTT {Course record}
– Saskia Kowalchuk and Madeleine McConnell recently named in Junior Women’s World Championship pool of 6 riders.

We do plan on expanding our roster for the remainder of 2012 and next year, so we are always happy to talk to riders from Canada or the USA interested in being part of TEAM CHCH. We offer the full service, from training programs, training the mind, race day support, career development, basically we have all the services that can take you to where ‘you’ want to go, contact us on info@ncch.ca should you be interested”.
