Team BC Cyclists Carry Olympic Torch – Report, Photos, Videos

report by Steve Lund / Team BC

October 31, 2009 (Victoria, BC) – Team BC cyclist Craig Logan left his bike at home on Friday and went for a run… a run in front of thousands of people while carrying the torch for the 2010 Olympic Games. Logan was one of a select few chosen to carry the Olympic Torch on the first leg of it’s cross-country journey that started today in Victoria. Although his run was a short 300 meters, it ended at the View Royal Centennial Park where he was greeted by numerous dignitaries, town officials and a whole elementary school of children singing ‘Oh Canada’. In a post run interview, Logan said it was a great honor to be chosen to run with the Torch and a great inspiration to his own goal of competing at the Olympic Games. Watch the videos of Logan’s run below.

The Torch relay continues in and around Victoria on Saturday when another of Team BC’s brightest young stars Annie Ewart will be part of the Torch relay, but on her bike.
