July 7, 2005 – The 2005 Tour de France is in full swing with a new route, some early surprises and Discovery’s Lance Armstrong going for his seventh win there’s plenty of drama yet to unfold. What’s in store for Armstrong and other big guns such as T-Mobile’s Jan Ullrich, CSC’s Ivan Basso, and Phonak’s Floyd Landis? Can Quick.Step’s Tom Boonen maintain his streak?
The Tour is set to heat up with the mountains looming and a key time trial ahead all focusing on the final prize – the yellow jersey. But don’t forget the other competitions… the Green (points), White (best young rider) and Polka Dot (climber) jerseys are also up for grabs.
Here’s where you can impress us and your friends with your savvy cycling knowledge – pick the right winners and win great prizes in Pedal’s TDF 2005 Contest !
Vote in as many categories as you like. Just list your top three choices in each category and include the final time gap or points gap for the winner. For example, if you picked Lance Armstrong to win the G.C. followed by Basso and Ullrich, include the three riders and the winner’s time gap i.e. 3:23 minutes. For the Green, White and Polka Dot Jersey, list the points gap – so for example Basso wins, followed by Landis, and Iban Mayo i.e. 35 points (is the points gap that Basso wins over Landis).
We added an exciting NEW bonus trivia section this year so stay tuned – Pedal’s TDF 2005 Contest launches this weekend…
