March 7, 2006 – At the recent Wellington Women’s Road World Cup on Sunday, March 5 in New Zealand, Pedal caught up with Canada’s Amy Moore for a brief interview.
On NZ: “It’s my first time in New Zealand and I’ve really enjoyed it. Kiwis are the most friendly people in the world!”
On the race: “It was a very painful race. It’s been very good for the
body, and good training for the Commonwealth Games. They are going to
be my first big Games and I want to do well.”
On the Ulmer phenomenon in NZ: “Sarah is incredible. The fact she is
such a successful person and so nice is very cool. It’s always great
to have a winner like that and she’s so humble about it all as well.”
New Zealand’s Sarah Ulmer is at a similar level of fame as Wayne
Gretzky in Canada which quite unbelievable for a female in a minority
sport.
