November 8, 2003 – Savouring success in its debut year, Symmetrics Cycling competed in 65 events, claimed 72 podium finishes, 29 victories and capped the season with a remarkable 8-race winning streak. These impressive results left an indelible mark on the local, regional and national road racing circuits in 2003.
In a feat unparalleled in over a decade, Symmetrics Cycling claimed victory in every BC Road title race: BC Road, BC Time Trial, BC Criterium and the BC Pursuit Track Championship. In addition, the team also brought home the SISU BC Cup Series title in both the individual and team events.
After making successful in-roads in cycling with their Men's Elite team and Cyclists for Charity program, Symmetrics also announced their first investment in young talent in 2003 – the sponsorship of the BC Junior Team for the Tour de L'Abitibi, the prestigious Junior Men's (17-18 yr old), eight-stage event, held in Val-d'Or, Quebec. Coached by Jeremy Storie, Symmetrics Team BC finished 5th overall and top Canadian team.
On a different level, Symmetrics Cycling raised more than $72,000 in pledges toward its Cyclists for Charity Program, which raises money for the BC Special Olympics organization. It was triumphant year all around – one that exceeded all expectations and one that sets the bar at an impressive level for 2004.
Symmetrics Cycling would like to extend its sincerest thanks to all of its 2003 team members. The individual contributions of each athlete were notable in their own right but it was their efforts as a team that helped Symmetrics Cycling enjoy such tremendous success in its inaugural year on the circuit.

The bar has been set and to meet the challenge, Symmetrics Cycling has assembled a younger, stronger team that is more than able to deliver success. In addition to now-veterans Scott Goguen, Min Van Velzen, Brad Issel and Matt Usborne, Symmetrics Cycling is proud to announce the addition of Marsh Cooper, Will Routley, Fred Hodgson, Cameron Evans, Andrew Pinfold, and Dylan Sebel. The addition of these high-calibre, young riders will add considerable depth to the Symmetrics roster and will improve the team's chances for success while riding in North American race events.
In addition, Symmetrics has appointed Jeremy Storie as team manager. He brings over 20 years of experience in the cycling arena to the Symmetrics Cycling Project. Most recently, he has been coaching Canadian National Cycling Team member Mandy Poitras, World Mountain Biking Espoirs contender, Will Routley, and Canadian National Jr. Cycling Team members Cameron Evans and Marsh Cooper. His coaching efforts were instrumental in helping the Symmetrics Team BC perform so impressively in their first Tour de L'Abitibi effort.
