May 11, 2006 – After five of 12 events in the internationally competitive Swisspower Cup mountain bike series, Petra Henzi (SUI, Fischer-BMC) has a solid lead in the women’s competition with 380 points. Former Junior World Champion Sonja Traxel (SUI, Kona-Verbier-Swiss Factory) sits in second place with 273 points and Canada’s Sandra Walter (CAN, X.O-Felt) is in third position, trailing Traxel by only two points. Martina Feldmann (CAN, X.O-Felt) holds position 23 in the series and Kiara Bisaro (CAN, Team R.A.C.E.), who placed second in event number five last weekend, is in 32nd spot.

Martin Gujan (SUI, Athleticum) is on top in the men’s competition with 324 points. Nino Schurter (SUI, Swisspower) holds second spot with 299 points and Gion Manetsch (SUI, Athleticum) is in third position with 284 points.

The series still has seven events left, but will take a three-week break to avoid conflict with the World Cup Series. The Swisspower Series resumes again on June 5 in Perrefitte.
