Svein Tuft Joins Pedal Family – Reader Suggestions Welcome in Naming New Column

January 23, 2014 (Toronto, ON) – We are pleased to announce that Svein Tuft of Langley, BC, has come on board with Pedal Magazine as a featured columnist in 2014. He joins fellow contributors including some of Canada’s top riders such as Catharine Pendrel, Geoff Kabush, along with former Canadian cycling greats Alex Stieda, and Steve Bauer.

Canada’s hardman of cycling will share with readers his thoughts and experiences from the Pro peloton as he races at the top level with renowned WorldTour squad Orica GreenEdge. Tuft has as storied career with eight national ITT titles and one national road title to his name, along with being the 2006–2007 UCI America Tour champion, while also capturing the 2007 U.S. Open Cycling Championships. He won the overall Tour de Beauce in 2008 and that same year became Canada’s first ITT Worlds silver medalist.

At last year’s Tour de France, he helped lead his team to a prestigious TTT win as he drove the pace in true Tuft style. His effort won him the Best Canadian Cycling Moment in the 2013 Pedal Magazine Awards as voted by our readers. He also won the Best Overall Cyclist (Male or Female), Best Overall Senior/U23 Female Cyclist (Male or Female), and Best Road Senior/U23 Cyclist (Male or Female).
