April 5, 2005 — On Sunday. April 3 in a rainy downpour we attacked a single-track fiesta at the Surrey Mountain Bike Park put on by SORCE (Surrey Off-road Cycling Enterprises??). Great race – all single track!

Ryan Edwards (Tantalus Bike Shop) and Neil Kindrey (Giant,/Sugoi) from Squamish, B.C. lead the first two laps ahead of Andreas Hestler (Rocky Mountain-Business Objects), Matt Green (Rocky Mountain-Haywood Securities) and Kevin Calhoun (Rocky Mountain-Cupcakes).

After lap three Ryan faded while Neil make a vicious attack. Matt Cottrel (On the Edge Bike Shop) charged hard almost bridging to the leaders. Meanwhile Green and Calhoun were fouled up by mechanicals.

Lap four saw Hestler attack Kindrey with Edwards holding on to third. Matt Green looked good but suffered more mechanicals and Matt Cottrel sprinted it out with Kevin Calhoun – his seat practically falling off his bike (who’s your mechanic) – to finish in fourth spot.
