Favourites Sven Nys (Bel) Landbouwkrediet-Colnago and Zdenek Stybar (Cze) Telenet Fidea Cycling finished second and third, respectively. Jonathan Page (USA) was the top North American in 21st.

Katie Compton (USA) Planet Bike won the elite women’s race, beating out defending World Champion and cycling wunderkind Marianne Vos (Ned). Daphny Van Den Brand (Ned) ZZPR.NL finished third. Vicki Thomas (Can) was the sole Canuck in the ring, finishing 2 laps down.
