December 31, 2012 (Burnaby. BC) – Tyler Farrar of Garmin Sharp continued on his winning streak from the previous night taking both the opening race and the feature ahead of Kyle Buckosky and Zak Kovalcik in both races. Farrar won with 114 pts ahead of Buckosky’s 97 and Kovalcik’s 77.
Gillian Carleton and Steph Roorda steam rolled to victory finally putting the pesky duo of Erin “Gumdrop” Glover and Claire Cameron a lap down on the final night. Jenny Lehmann and Laura Brown hung in for third final place.
The exhibition 3km pursuit between Tyler Farrar and the Canadian women’s team pursuit team lived up to its top billing. Farrar went out to an early lead and by the half way point it was only meters separating the two opponents with the lead changing every half lap. The trio of Carleton, Roorda, and Brown then surged ahead in last three laps only to have Farrar make a comeback near then end that fell just short with the women besting Farrar by about a bike length.
In the C’s it was Stephen Butchart winning the overall and Spencer Mulder in second and Ephraim Soira in third. James Hilyer from LA took the B omnium ahead of John Wood and Mike Buckosky. The women’s omnium was won by Meghan Grant over Jenny Gerth and Melanie von Stettan.
