March 03, 2018 (Siena, Italy) – Karol-Ann Canuel (Boels Dolmans Cyclingteam) was the lone Canuck helping her teammate, Anna van der Breggen (Ned), to victory at 136km Strada Bianche 2018 for women which was also the kick-off Round #1 of the UCI Women’s World Tour 2018.

In the men’s race, a mud-caked Tiesj Benoot (Bel) Lotto Soudal soloed in for a resounding victory in the 184km men’s race. Canadians Antoine Duchesne (FDJ) and Svein Tuft (Mitchelton-Scott) did not finish working for their team.
