“The camp was a great chance to get the riders together in a low-key and relaxed atmosphere before the season even starts,” said Trew. “The team has some great chemistry and everyone is super motivated for the 2013 season and looking to step their racing up a level.”
The team will be targeting international events in eastern North America such as the Liberty Classic and the Grand Prix Cycliste de Gatineau, as well as B.C. Superweek in July.
“Our early season camps, like this one, will get the team functioning as a cohesive unit for when we get to the team’s biggest races- starting with the GP Gatineau in our own backyard,” said Trew.

Returning Riders:
Carrie Cartmill – The team’s veteran and captain on the road, Carrie brings extensive European and North American experience to the team, having completed the prestigious Tour de L’Aude in 2009. Carrie returned to racing last year after several seasons abbreviated by illness. She rode strong all year at the big races like the Liberty Classic and the Gatineau Grand Prix. A smashing performance in the opening stage of the Tour de Whiterock set her up to win one of Canada’s most classic races, as well as place second overall at BC Super Week.
Adriane Provost – Adriane is a former junior national time trial champion, and past member of multiple national team projects as both a junior and a senior. Adriane made impressive steps into the senior ranks last year, starting the season strong with a podium at the Grand Prix de la Mairie de Contrecoeur and culminating with a silver medal in the time trial at provincials and the overall win at the Tour de Quebec.
Évelyne Gagnon – The reigning Quebec Criterium Champion crams the biggest personality into the smallest frame size of anyone on the team. Evelyn improved immensely last season demonstrating impressive time trialing abilities with a stage one podium at Charlevoix.
New Signings:
Ariane Bonhomme – The 2012 Junior National Champ, Arianne soloed to victory in Mont-Mégantic this summer by over a minute on her nearest rival. She represented Canada in both the time trial and road race at Junior Worlds and medalled in the individual pursuit at the Junior Pan-American games. And she has one more year left as a juniorŠ
Annie Foreman-Mackey – New to the team and new to racing, Annie took home a silver medal at the Ontario Time Trial Championships at the end of the summer and is poised for even more success in 2013.
Catherine Dessureault – Catherine was strong from start to finish last year in all kinds of courses; winning the Ontario Cup at Calabogie to open the season, won stage 1 and came 2nd over all in the GC at Charlevoix in June, and finished third at the Quebec TT Championships in late August. Catherine got exposure to bigger races in Gatineau and Boston last year and the team will look to her to play a valuable role on the road.
Ruth McLean – This Kingston native, who now resides in Montreal, made some big impressions in her first year racing. McLean clearly liked Ottawa racing with a 3rd place in the Preston St. Criterium and 2nd in the OBC Grand prix. She liked it so much that for 2013 she’s joined an Ottawa based team!
Audrey Bernard – Audrey is another of the young future stars of the team, and a versatile road sprinter. Audrey had a commendable first season in the senior ranks, with podiums at the eQuinelle Grand Prix and Dandelion GP events, as well top five places at the Quebec Road Race Championships and the National Criterium Championships. Audrey has also represented Canada on the National Team and was the U17 National Omnium Champion on the track.
Hélène Pilote-Fortin – This second year U23 climber from Quebec City is looking to make an impact anytime the road turns upwards in 2013. She was fourth last season on the Charlevoix road course- a race with one of the toughest reputations in eastern Canada, and will be looking to improve upon that placing this year.
