Spring Series Learn to Race Clinic – March 14

March 11, 2009 – It’s that time of year again (2 weeks later). Spring Series!! Time to pull off your fenders or dust off your racing bike and remember how to suffer. For those of you who have never raced before, this is a great time to learn. It’s a no pressure series where you can get your feet wet. Plus there are 10 races and 7 different courses to practice on. So, if this is your first time into the road racing world, what better way to start than with a LEARN TO RACE CLINIC, SATURDAY MARCH 14/2009, the day before the first race of the year.

Learn about:
– Race preparedness
– Weather appropriate racing attire
– Warm up (how long, how hard, when to bother)
– Pre/During/Post Race Nutrition
– Race logistics (where to go, how to sign up)
– Race Tactics (how to win)
– How to ride safely in a pack
– How to corner safely and efficiently
– Race rules

We will have experienced Cat 1 racers (men and women) to discuss these issues in a seminar format (bring your questions). Then we will head out onto the road to do some pack skills training, and a race simulation on Spring Series course #1. We are limited to 30 entrants.

Logistics:
Where: The Fort Winery, Fort Langley
When: 10:00 am – 1:00pm Saturday March 14th, 2009
Cost: $15 for Race Licence holders, $30 for non licence holders*. 18 and under are free.

* Non licence holders will need to complete an one-event membership ($10 included in price) on site. Excess medical membership may be purchased for an additional $20. The one-event will be valid for the March 15th race as well.
