December 19, 2003 – Sports Officials of Canada (SOC) is pleased to announce that the second-ever national sports officials conference, “It's Official 2004” will be held February 27-29 at the Delta Ottawa in Ottawa, Ontario.

Barry Mano of Referee Magazine will present “Leadership Officiating Now!” focusing on the many hats sports officials are expected to wear in todays sport environment.

Victor Lachance, leader of the Sport Matters Collective, will speak on the importance of advocacy to the officiating community.

The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sports will look at an Officials Code of Conduct and Barry Mano will present the American model for our consideration. A great weekend experience for officials of all sports! Hear about the key problems facing officials and possible solutions. Help shape the future role of the SOC in representing sports officials in Canada.
