October 8, 2010 (Montréal, QC) – The junior cycling team SpiderTech Powered by Powerwatts announces the signing of its first five junior cyclists. The junior cycling team SpiderTech Powered by Powerwatts is proud to present its first five cyclists. The selected young athletes have all submitted their application which included a letter of motivation, a sports resume as well as their last academic report card.

The team managed by Claude Pinard, François Cossette and Chris Rozdilsky will therefore be able to count on these five cyclists next year:

Alex Cataford: In addition to excelling on the road in every challenge and particularly in the time trial, Alex represented Canada at the Track World Junior Championships in Italy last August. The team will be able to benefit from his international experience.

Frédéric Cossette: Great climber and member of the Québec team, Frédéric joined the team and has set his goals on getting better on every aspect of cycling. He will take advantage of the upcoming ski season to improve his physical preparation for the next cycling season.

Lambert Gatineau: We qualify cyclists like Lambert as “cut throat sprinter”. The year 2010 was an excellent year for Lambert, and included a second place finish at the U-17 Track Canadian Championships as well as his title at the Mardis cyclistes de Lachine.

Émile Jean: Excellent cyclist, Émile has been progressing at a fast pace on the Québec cycling circuit for the past 2 years as demonstrated by his time trial Junior Québec Champion title, his victory at the Classique Trois-Rivières – Québec and his 3 medals at the Track Canadian Junior Championships.

Alexandre Pinard: All-around cyclist and first-class team mate, Alexandre continues to progress on both road and track events since his selection on the track Québec team two years ago. He will prepare for his next cycling season by being a member of the Juvenile Elite Hockey Team at Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf.

Further announcements will be made over the next few weeks. Moreover, the team also announced today that it will proceed to complete the roster, female and male junior cyclists can therefore still send in their applications.
