October 19, 2010 (Milton, ON) – The Speed River Cycling Club is proud to present the 7th Annual Kelso Cross Weekend, host of the 2010 Ontario Cyclocross Championships, this coming weekend Saturday, Oct. 23rd and Sunday, October 24, at Kelso Conservation Area, in Milton, Ontario.

This two-day event offers a separate race course each day, consisting of a fast mix of rolling hills, pavement, gravel, grass and sand, barriers and obstacles. Both courses offer unique challenges and have been popular favorites in years past. A prize purse of over $2,500 in cash and merchandise prizes is up for grabs (see website for details).

Saturday, Oct. 23 will have racers competing for the 2010 Ontario Cyclocross Championship. Entry fee is $35 via pre-registration only. There will be no day-of entries.

A citizen-sanctioned race on Sunday, Oct. 24th offers riders a second opportunity to race this weekend, possibly earning additional prize money, merchandise prizes, and even some upgrade points. Entry fee is $20 via pre-registration with day-of entry available for an additional $10. A $5 discount is available if pre-registering for both days.

We are also please to announce that there will be on-site catering available all weekend. Catering is being provided by Alex and Dan Catering (www.alexanddan.com), a Guelph-based catering company specializing in the use of locally sourced natural and organic foods. Be sure to try out some of their fine fare after working up an appetite during your race!

One-day event permits will be available for non-licence holders. US residents require a UCI international license.
