March 20, 2007 – Only three days to go before the MS London 6 Day Bike Race, the members of the Forest City Velodrome, are excited to announce that Eon D’Ornellas from Toronto will be honoured, Saturday night March 24 for his cycling accomplishments.
At the intermission race, fans will have the opportunity to meet the cycling icon from Toronto. D’Ornellas, a member of the Canadian Olympic team in the 1980’s and Canadian Road & Criterium Champion will be in attendance to watch his sponsored team during the night of racing.
The FCV welcomes all D’Ornellas Cycling Club members to attend the Saturday night event to support Eon.
The 6 Days of racing begins Friday night March 23 at 7pm at the indoor Velodrome in London. Sunday’s racing begins at 1pm
A total of 10 teams will be participating in the MS London 6 day. 6 Elite Teams and 4 “B” teams will battle over 2 weekends for title. The “B” division will be very interesting to watch as the FCV has introduced 3 person teams. Each team has a mix of youth and experience, from 12 year old Ryan Lave, 13 year old Kyle Rupay and 16 year old Stephanie Bester…to grizzled Veterans Joe Brennan & Rob Kowal from New Jersey.
The London 6 Day is in support of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of
Canada and the FCV Velo-Kids programs.
If it’s been a while since you have seen Track Racing now is the time
to come out and make some “Noise”.
