Southern Ontario Cyclo-Cross Riders – Please Read!

October 20, 2006 – As you are aware, this year we are experiencing issues with results at Southern Ontario Cyclo-Cross Series. Upon investigation, it appears the problem stems from an increase in participation. It is a pleasant problem but a problem none-the-less.

To calculate cyclo-cross results (even top 3 results); the commissaire must determine the final placing of all riders including DNF and lapped riders. The more lapped riders, the longer it takes to calculate results.

To offset this we are asking the following three things.

1) Organisers have been asked to increase their course lengths to a minimum of an 8 minute Senior Men lap. This will hopefully reduce the number of lapped riders

2) DNF riders are asked to report their DNF to the commissaire. This will increase the speed of results calculation.

3) Riders are asked to bring their OCA Cyclo-Cross numbers to all events. These are the numbers you received at your first CX race this year (ZM or Valley Park). The OCA Cyclo-Cross numbers consist of two shoulder and two regular numbers. Please wear all four numbers. If you did not receive your should numbers at Valley Park, they will be available for pickup at any OCA CX event.

Riders who forget their OCA Cyclo-Cross numbers will be required to pay $20 at the event for new numbers.

These simple three things will be a great help to calculating quick, accurate results.
