January 31, 2007 — Quebec’s Mont Ste-Anne and Stoneham ski resorts are encouraging cyclists to take their bikes out of winter hibernation early for some MTB four-cross racing in the snow, February 3 and 24.

Mon Ste-Anne hosts the February 3 event, while Stoneham gets all the action on February 24. There are three categories — Pro Men, Amateur Men and Pro Women, and organizers are offering a cash prize purse of $800 and draw prizes.

It’s four against four in the snow and the only rules are: wear a helmet, no studded tires allowed, and parent/guardian permission is required for participants under the age of 18.

Registration: 5:30 — 6:30 p.m. (cafeteria)
Competition starts: 7:00 p.m.
Competition ends: 8:30 p.m.
Deliberation of judges: 9:00 — 9:15 p.m.
Awards: 9:15 p.m. (cafeteria)
