SISU BC Cup Series Enters Home Stretch

July 15, 2005 – The Men’s race for the SISU BC Cup title is, as it has been over the last few years, a closely fought battle between Symmetrics’ Marsh Cooper (24pts) and Will Routely (23pts) against Trek-Red Truck Beer’s Rick Minichiello (22pts) and Sean Dawson (18pts). A scant 2 points separates the top 3 riders. With only 10 points separating the top 9 riders, the title is still up for grabs! The Tour de Delta and the Tour de White Rock promise to be a no holds barred grudge match between BC’s top road racers!

The women’s race for the title is all but secured by Symmetrics’ Marni Hambleton, enjoying a commanding lead over teammate Maria Lee, who in turn has a small, 6 point edge over Alison Sydor (Rocky Mountain/Business Objects). Hambleton, hot off her Yaletown Grand Prix win and riding at the top of her game, is virtually assured the top step of the Podium for the SISU BC Cup Series title, who will fill the last two steps?

Points are awarded to the top 10 BC-licenced riders according to the following points formula; 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 2, 2.
