Simard Crowned Quebec Cross Champ

November 6, 2007 (Drummondville, Que.) — On October 28, the OBC Eastern Ontario Cyclo-cross Series #5 took place in Kanata, Ontario. Benoît Simard finished third in the race behind Osmond Bakker and Aaron Fillion. Eighty-one riders were at the starting line of this second race of the day, where three Quebec riders finished in the top six in the Senior race.

On November 4, Benoît won the Quebec provincial cyclo-cross championship in Sherbrooke at Victoria Park, despite of a crash that happened in the second lap. He had to change his bike three times during the remainder of the race because of the crash, but was able to lead through to the end to become the new 2007 Quebec cyclo-cross champion. Marc-André Daigle and William Goodfellow completed the podium.
