SG/Espoirs Laval Squad 2005

February 24, 2005 – The 2005 senior road SG/Espoir Laval team was officially introduced on January 29th by Mrs. Danielle D. Brien, director general of the Foundation for Children Diabetics, an organization associated with the Espoirs de Laval this season. After 2004, a season full of success, including six Canadian Championship titles, six World Championship participations, as well as one rider who signed a professional contract (Christian Meier, with the Symmetrics Cycling team), 2005 promises to be just as successful. The team will be made up of François Parisien, of Hugues Lapointe, Maxime Vives (sixth Montreal-Quebec) and of Antoine Stundner. Marc Wayne Addison (first GP Louis Garneau), Carl Desroches, Andrew Leach, as Jean-François Racine (second GP Magog) will be back with Nationale SG/Espoir Laval this season. These veterans will help to a significant degree the development of the younger riders like François Sztuke (first GP Modica the Baron) and David Roy.

Charly Vives will make the jump at the seniors after having been one of the best juniors at the Canadian level in 2004 (Canadian pursuit champion).

The female team will be it also very competitive, with five riders, including two of the best female juniors in 2004: Mylène Laliberté (11th at the World Championships in the Scratch Race) and Joelle Numainville (Champion Canadian junior 2004).
