May 5, 2007 (Saint-Félicien, QC) — The Nissan UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Saint-Félicien has named Jean-Pierre Senneville as its honorary president. Senneville is the VP of sales of Quebec Wild Blueberries Inc, an organization that brings together wild blueberry producers and processing firms committed to marketing this boreal fruit.
Martin Demers, chairman of the organizing committee for the event, proudly proclaimed that the expertise developed by the local MTB club, Vélo 2 Max, is now recognized worldwide.
The Saint-Félicien Nissan UCI Mountain Bike World Cup event is scheduled for Sunday, July 1, 2007 and 200 top international cyclists are expected for the event. Events are scheduled from June 28-July 1 including a Quebec Cup on June 30 where approximately 500 competitors are expected.
Prior to the Saint-Félicien event Mont Ste Anne is hosting a Nissan UCI Mountain Bike World Cup “triple” including cross-country, downhill and four cross racing from June 21-24.
