April 20, 2012 (Toronto, ON) – BTAC and Share The Road are doing their 2nd annual bike donation to the YMCA in the GTA area. This presentation will take place next week at the Ontario Bike Summit on April 24 & 25th. We would love to have you at the event as the Ontario Bike Summit is key to garnering support for cycling in Ontario.

To date response has been good and we are half way to our goal of donating 20 bikes for youth. These don’t have to be new bikes, a gently used bike will be welcomed as well. Please contact me if you have a bikes you can donate, we can make arrangements to pick up the bikes by May 30th. The bikes you donate will go to a youth who really needs it….

The YMCA has more than 375 locations across the GTA that offer a host of programs from before and after school to employment to youth leadership programs. Ideally, they would like to give these bikes to youth in underserved neighbourhoods who receive financial assistance from the YMAC Strong Kids program. These bikes will go to youth who need it the most and will benefit from owning their own bike.
