April 18, 2005 “” Brian Lopes (USA, G.T.) and Jill Kintner (USA, Yeti) snatched up the Mountain Cross titles yesterday afternoon in the final stage of the Gravity Omnium competition. The race saw heats of four riders go head-to-head on a crowd-pleasing course that included the famous alligator pit, filled with pink flamingos and rubber duckies.
Canada’s Claire Buchar (CAN, Merlanduo-BeOne) placed 11th in the Mountain Cross and 9th overall.
In the end, the combined Gravity Omnium crowns went to Jared Graves (USA) and Tracy Moseley (GBR, Kona-Les Gets) in the men’s and women’s events, respectively. Both riders won Stage 2, the downhill race, yesterday morning.
