July 12, 2019 (Collingwood, ON) – Sea Otter Canada 2019 launched this past weekend at Blue Mountain Resort and Pedal was on site to take in the latest and greatest as fabulous weather blessed the new cycling festival – read more about the launch here.
With multiple events including gravel, dual slalom, a gran fondo, enduro and more along with butter chicken and a cold brew fans came out to play. We caught with legendary Alex Stieda, the first North Amercan to ever wear the famous Tour de France yellow jersey who was all smiles at the Sportful-Castelli booth as the Tour also got underway last weekend with Canadian sensation Michael Woods (EF Education First Procycling) on the start line.Plus we also caught up with one of the Sea Otter Canada partners, Jesper Wahlberg, at the Cannondale booth for an inside look at how the new festival got off the ground and some of growing pains that are normal with any new venture. “We tried to maintain the great classic feel of Sea Otter which has such a great name and we’re excited to bring a world-class cycling event to this fabulous area but just need people to sign up and show us some love a bit earlier,” said Wahlberg.
