April 16, 2018 – In the wake of a truly apocalyptic weekend of weather, the organizing body at Superfly Racing in concert with the OCA have decided to postpone Ontario Cup #1 and choose an alternate “Snow” date.
In light of the past two years having extremely muddy, virtually undrideable races, we feel being proactive to avoid the harsh conditions and trail damage is in the best interest of everyone. Add to the minimal opportunities to train on a Mountain Bike through what has been a dreadful April, and the choice is quite clear. In spite of a warmer, sunny forecast for the weekend of April 21/22, freezing nights and a cold week mean little of the deep ice and snow will have a chance to melt.
All registered riders in both the full series and event day formats will automatically be registered for Mansfield on May 19, if for any reason you are not able to make this date, email sean@superflyracing.com and your registration will be forwarded to another event.
We feel this decision is in the best interest of the rider, the venue, and sends a clear message that we want to be responsible stewards of our lands.
