April 27, 2018 (Edmonton, AB) – Imagine pedalling gracefully over open water with no traffic hazards, no pollution, and no crowded trails. The Shuttle Bike Kit 2.0 is an accessory to add-on to your own road or mountain bike and converts any normal type of bicycle into an amphibious vehicle letting you cycle streams, rivers, and lakes…imagine the possibilities.

Riders can pedal and propel themselves through water up to 10 kph – twice as fast as an experienced paddler can propel a canoe. The Shuttle Bike Kit drive makes efficient use of the bicycle gearing ratio. The rear tire of the bike drives a roller, which drives a prop under the bike’s front wheel via a flex shaft allowing the use of all of the bike’s gears. Steering is controlled by turning the handlebars and comes equipped with a load capacity of 300 lbs.

A recent invention manufactured in Italy, the Shuttle Bike Kit is portable and can fit into a small backpack with a total weight of just 12 kg. Total prep time is under 10 minutes without the need of any tools.

Once you arrive at your waterfront destination you assemble the frame, attach the rudder and inflate the yellow floating pontoons/floats with a special supplied bicycle pedal powered pump.

The air chambers in each pontoon provide safety and added stability even in strong currents or large waves. The propeller drive has a quick acting clutch and pivots freely for use even in shallow water.

Prices range from $2,300 to $2,500 depending on bicycle wheel size.
