December 27, 2009 (Montreal, QC) – Giuseppe Joe Sylvestre, longtime owner of ABC Cycles & Sports Ltd on Park Ave, passed away last Saturday, Dec. 19, at the age of 73. ABC is one of the largest and oldest bike shops in Quebec beginning in 1932 when Cyro Sylvestre, Joe’s father, opened on Henri-Julien Street. The store relocated to Saint-Laurent Blvd and then later established itself at 5584 Park Avenue where it’s located today.

He is survived by his wife Huguette Gravel, son Francois and his wife Marie-Josée Alain, his grandchildren and son Yannick Olivier Sylvestre, brothers Emile and John Sylvester and relatives and friends.

The funeral service is planned for Monday, December 28 at 10 am in the Notre-Dame-de-la-Défense Church at 6800 Henri-Julien in Montreal and following that at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges cemetery.
