January 15, 2007 – The 2003 Elite Women’s MTB XC World Champion and 2004 Olympic Bronze Medalist, Germany’s Sabine Spitz, will ride with Team Ghost International Racing in 2007, after two years with the Specialized Factory Team.

“I consciously gave myself time to decide which partner I wanted to work with in future,” said Spitz. “The team’s title sponsor is bicycle manufacturer, Ghost, one of the leading bicycle manufacturers in Germany and, like me, Ghost began its “career” in cycling about 14 years ago.”

Spitz and the team will be riding a limited edition version of Ghost’s new high-tech carbon fiber “Lector” model with graphics that pay tribute to the World Cup XC race in Offenburg, Germany on May 25-27, which is also the home base of Team Ghost.

The Offenburg World Cup will be the highlight of Spitz’s 2007 season as she sets her sights to win. Her other focus is to achieve a strong showing at the MTB World Championships in Fort William, Scotland, September 3-9, in her lead-up to the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China.
