RWR/Peak Winter Series Stage 6 Results

January 25, 2008 — Stage 6 of the Ride with Rendall/ Peak Winter Series took place in various locations across Canada. Riders were faced with the time trial course, which is the only stage that has been repeated from year to year. The course records are held by Aaron Fillion (34:17.6) and Natasha Elliot (38:02.6).

Derrick St. John of the Jet Fuel cycling team posted the winning time of 34:49.1. Ron Amos and Ryan Atkins posted times which placed them 2nd and 3rd. Honorable mentions go out to the Vancouver riders for their hard fought finish with only point one of a second separating the top two riders from Vancouver, perhaps they were warming up for the next Maxxis Sprint stage (stage 9).

The women’s race was hard fought all the way to the finish. The battle for the stage bragging rights goes to Natasha Elliott with a finishing time of 39:41.9, Tenille Hoogland and Lindsay Anderson both finished within 22 seconds of Natasha’s time to claim 2nd and 3rd place and just knocking triathlete Cynthia Wilson off the podium in the process.

Stage 7 will take place this weekend and will feature the extended time trail course for the first time .Much like the regular tt course, the extended course will be repeated once a month to help riders track there fitness and to fuel personal battles . If you haven’t tried one of these races yet now is your chance to get out and test your winter fitness.
