February 9, 2005 – Stage 9 will definitely be remembered as a climbing stage as riders face a relentless Euro style mountain top finish that wound it’s way up and culminated in a series of steep switchbacks that increased in gradient at the top. Cynthia Clarke finished 6th overall on her way to winning the woman’s category with a solid time of 48:37. In the men’s field,it was a battle between Ride with Rendall teammates for first three places. Sean Wakefield and Rob Orange both posted fast times only to be edged by the series mystery rider in the last heat of the day with a time of 43:21.

The series so far has seen a variety of riders compete ranging from full time athletes to those who say “it was the first time on a bike since I they were 5”.
