RWR/ Peak Series Stage 1 Results

December 8, 2006 – The results are now in from Stage 1 of the RWR/ Peak Winter racing series. Starting where he left off last year, last years series champion Warren MacDonald pulled out the stops and set a blistering pace over the hilly 24.14km course to finish with a time of 38.07.3. Finishing close behind with a time of 38.42.6 , 2006 series runner up Marc Boudreau served notice that this year’s 17 stage series will be hard fought and exciting. Rick Sudac rounded of the podium by taking third with a time of 39.40.8

In the women’s category a new contender emerged to challenge last years champion Cynthia Wilson (Clark). Elite triathlete Tenille Hoogland finished the challenging course with a time of 43.46.6.to take the win over Cynthia Wilson (45.04.9) Third place went to Vancouver rider Leah Guloien who finished the course with a time of 45.32.5.

While fast times were being set all over, the ride of the weekend went to 13year old Karl Hoppner who posted a time of 45.32.5 to take the U18 category. Karl’s time was good enough to place him in the top portion of the field overall.

Stage 2 of the 17 stage RWR/ Peak Winter Series will take place this coming weekend with heats in Vancouver, Ottawa, Canmore and Montreal. Riders will race in waves of 5 to 8 on multilinked computrainers to determine the results of each the stage with full results appearing on www.Ridewithrendall.com

The 17-race indoor series is designed for fun and fitness with the overall GC based on points. The series is for all levels of ability so come for the racing or come for the training and social aspect of it. If you have never experienced multirider racing before, the first ride is free so come on out.
