Pedal: Roland, you're racing the Tour of Georgia this week with USPS. Are
you excited to be racing on the road again and how do you feel about this
event?
Green: Yes, it is exciting and it's great doing it alongside Michael. We
rode together as far back as Tour de l'Abitibi. Last night we had a beer
together and watched the Leafs game with Dominique Perras (Flanders/Iteamnova.com),
another crazy Canuck that I lived with in France in 1993. Good times for
sure.
Pedal: Nice beard, by the way. Predictions for the Canucks, and the hockey
finals?
Who is your favourite player?
Green: Oh, without a doubt my favourite player is Todd Bertuzzi. He's the
kind of guy who gives it everything every time he plays and carries the
whole team with his energy and intensity. I will not shave until the Canucks
are done their business, by the way-it's my playoff beard.
Pedal: How big of a hockey fan are you; playoffs only or diehard all season?
Green: I'm actually becoming more of a hockey fan as I get older. I guess
you could say I'm recognizing my heritage as a Canadian. Regular season
hockey is becoming more of a ritual. I like to go over to my brothers place,
drink beer and watch hockey. That's original, isnt it?
