September 9, 2002 – Not only will there be cycling reporters heading out to
Hasselt and Heusden-Zolder during the Road World 2002 Championships, but
also reporters on tourism will be making their way to Belgium. Working
together with Toerisme Vlaanderen and Toerisme Limburg, a variety of
journalists from Great Britain, the Netherlands and Germany will cover the
Road Worlds and discover the cycling paradise of Limburg and region.
Information Folders for Residents
The residents of Hasselt and Heusden-Zolder have been kept informed over
the past few months about the traffic situation during the Road Worlds.
After intense deliberation between the World Championship organization and
the police services of Hasselt and Heusden-Zolder, a document known as “Day
by Day” has been put together. It provides answers to any queries that
residents may have in advance of the event. All residents will find a
copy of this document in their mailboxes sometime during this month.

UCI Executive Committee
The composition of the members of the Executive Committee for the World
Championships Road Racing has been released: Martin Bruin (NED) will
preside over the committee. Other members are: Michel Lefort (FRA), John
McDonnel (NZL), Zbigniew Zkibiel (POL), Giuseppe Baldi (ITA), JosÈ-Luiz
Sanz Roa (SPA). The Secretary is Jean-Pierre Coppenolle (BEL).
