June18, 2003 – Some on-line registrants are not using their UCI code. This code is found in the upper right-hand corner of the racing license and has been used to identify riders since 1995. This code is unique to each rider. It begins with the three letter code used by the International Olympic Committee. For Canadians this code begins with CAN followed by your year of birth, month of birth and date of birth.
If your license doesn't contain this code it does not permit you to participate in the CDN national road championships. All licenses valid for participating in events sanctioned by the CCA contain the UCI code as specified in the rules.
To avoid unnecessary complications, please be sure to enter your UCI code when registering. If your license does not have the UCI code contact the provincial federation or association, or in some cases USA Cycling and get it upgrade to an international license which will include the UCI code.
