About Abruzzo

Gord Singleton – Champion
Gord began his amateur cycling career in 1974 and just four years later returned home from the Edmonton Commonwealth games with gold and bronze medals. He eventually rose to international stardom, winning Pan American gold medals and becoming the first cyclist to break and hold simultaneously world records in the 200, 500 and 1000 metres. In 1982 he became the first Canadian rider to win a world cycling championship gold medal in the Keirin at the Track Worlds in Liecester, England.
