April 3, 2003 (Redlands, CA) – Yesterday's stage at the Redlands Classic saw Genevieve Jeanson (Rona-Esker) send a very convincing message to her rivals: watch out. The 'Machine from Lachine' attacked on the final climbs and left the rest of the field in splinters, after a breakaway by T-Mobile's  Dede Barry was foiled in the final run-in to the finish. With the win Jeanson solidified her overall lead in the stage race. Canadians Manon Jutras and Lyne Bessette, both Saturn riders, are in third and fourth overall.

in the men's race Team Saturn brought Nathan O'Neill another victory, thus giving him the overall leader's jersey. O'Neil won a three-way finish between his Saturn teammate Chris Horner and Canada's world MTB champ, Roland Green (Trek-VW All Stars). Team Saturn is sitting very well, with O'Neill, Horner and Tom Danielson occupying the top three positions in the overall standings, with  Green in fourth.
