March 3, 2004 – Difficult terrain, spectacular lines and a contest comprised of four different races: this all happens within 36 hours – day and night – and all disciplines must be completed with the same mountain bike. The challenge of the trails is tempered by a relaxed atmosphere and a party that is sure to
rock. From June 25-27, freeride aficionados will be meeting for the Red Bull Trailfox in the Alpenarena Flims Laax Falera.
Three days, four races – and the winner has to demonstrate more than simply the best speed. The Trailfox is the biker who can prove his or her courage, skill, speed and keen sense of the trail in all four disciplines, along with a sturdy bike and adequate light. The four disciplines – the Freeride Day Trail, the Freeride Night Trail, the Night X and the Freeride Downhill – are equally ranked, with the points being awarded according to placement and then totalled.
The Alpenarena offers 237K of mountain bike routes, downhill and freeride trails. The best of this biker world is awaiting the freeriders at the Red Bull Trailfox: a 35-meter-long wooden bridge, followed by a steep curve and a teeter-totter all contribute to that North Shore feeling. The Alpenarena event organisers know what must be included in a freeride event, which means that the 5th stage of the Red Bull Trailfox will take place again this year at one of the “in” clubs in Laax – it's part of the entire challenge!
