September 10, 2002 – Canada’s Ryan Leech (Norco) is one of fifteen pro
riders who have been invited to compete at the Red Bull Bike Battle in
Boston, MA, September 21, 2002. Unfortunately, Leech has sustained injuries
(a fracture and a chipped bone in his foot) that might not allow him to
compete at the event… we’ll keep you posted.

Red Bull has put together a competition that will feature elements of both
trials and exhibitions on a natural urban terrain course – Boston’s City
Hall Plaza! The event offers a $5,000.00 prize purse for the winners. The
riders will be judged on five talents (use of course, magnitude of moves,
flow, style and technical). This contest will be timed and riders will have
two runs of the course; they can choose whatever line they want on the
course (which will also feature man-made obstacles).

Along with Leech, Brazilian National Champ Christiano Santas will be there,
as well as 2000 Worlds Silver Medallist Petr Krav from the Czech Republic,
and Masters US Trials Rider JJ Gregorowicz.
