Reasons to Race ‘Cross in Manitoba this Season

release by the Manitoba Cycling Association

August 26, 2009 – The Manitoba Cycling Association has made it easier than ever for riders to get into cyclocross racing this fall. Riders really don’t have an excuse not to race. Don’t have a cross bike? No problem, a cross bike is not needed. In fact almost any bike will do as long as it can fit knobby tires and does not have bar ends (found on some mountain bikes). Bring whatever bike you have, mountain, road, commuter, or single speed and come and try one of the finest forms of racing

Don’t have a license? Again, no problem, as long as you have never held an MCA or other cycling race license you can purchase a $40 citizen license for this race. This license will allow you to try cyclocross racing at the introductory level for the rest of the season. And it gets better, not only can you enter the races we’ll let you do it for free* – no entry fees for those holding a citizen’s license.
