November 15, 2003 – Join us in 2004 for the Race the Rockies 30 Day Challenge, the greatest race on earth. Athletes will run, bike and paddle over 3,300 kilometers of mountainous terrain, from near the US/Canadian border to Dawson City, Yukon.
This epic race will be an opportunity of a lifetime to experience one of the greatest and wildest mountain ecosystems on earth. It will be a model event in that athletes, their support crew, and all race officials will be working to minimize their impact within the scope of their recreational pursuits and camp life.
Athletes will race as individuals or in teams of two?. Every day represents a new leg of the journey, with competitors racing up to 12 hours each day. A safety briefing will occur each night at camp, and competitors will exchange stories, clean gear, refuel and rehydrate for the next day's challenge. Beginning in British Columbia and ending in the Yukon Territory of Western Canada, this 3,340 km (2,075 mile) long course navigates through countless mountain ranges, eight lakes and six significant rivers including the Fraser and the Yukon.
